Imagination.. What an amazing word. Isn’t it? We all humans are blessed with the ability to imagine.
We all spend a significant
amount of time while imagining the things which are not likely to take place in
actual world. It is somewhat like teleportation. We are just teleported to the
strange and amazing world of our dreams where things work according to us and
that world really seems to be a wish granting machine. We are adorned on the
thorn and we are the king/queen of that world. We are the one who make rules
and decide each character and it’s significance. It is only the ability of
imagination that we get to read amazing Harry Potter series or watch that all
wonderful Disney and marvel pictures and hear to the great poets.
But you know what every thing have two sides so does imagination. Someone quoted that “we suffer more in our imagination than reality. “

When we are busy imagining our strawberry world and get some failure
or challenge in our real life. We literally start imagining worst for us. But
what if I failed that entrance exam. I won’t get any good college. I will be
mocked by my friends. I will disappoint my parents. I will not get a placement.
I will be broke. This was only one example where our imagination make us suffer
those problems which never exist. There is thin line between imagination and
overthinking and most of us today are engaged in overthinking which only make
us suffer the problems that never existed.
Instead of imagining solutions to our real life problems we
are more excited to imagine some more problems for us and grief over them.
Let me narrate you a famous folk tale which I guess many of you would have already heard about. So the tale goes on like this, once there was a man in some town. He was famous in whole town for his daydreaming. He opened a shop of earthenware in the market of that tiny town.
It was his first day at work.
He was so happy . He sat in the shop and started day-dreaming that how he will earn
a huge profit from this business and then he will expand his business. He will buy
a beautiful house in the middle of town.
He will be married off with the beautiful princess of the state. He will get a lot
of dowry. Then after some years he will have a son and he will be engaged in some
mischief and he will slap him so hard on his face . As he was imagining this
he really lifted his hand to slap his imaginary son and in no time his all earthenware
and dreams went to soil.
It was a funny story right?
Apart from this story, am not trying to convey that you should
stop imagining. No not at all! Imagination is one of the beautiful thing we humans
are gifted with. But yeah you should be careful to not let your imagination turn
into overthinking and not let it make you suffer in real life.
